Otaku's Library is an informational library and tracker for otaku media. This service is operated as an independent project. This policy explains how we handle account data, user submissions, and third-party assets we reference to keep the experience useful and respectful of your privacy.
Account details (username, email), profile info, submissions (lists, reviews, ratings), and basic device/log data needed for security and service reliability.
Entries may be librarian-curated, surfaced from search results, generated by AI, or submitted by users. Artwork can come from APIs (like AniList), user uploads, or hotlinked references(like Wikimedia commons and open library). Content is informational and may be incomplete or incorrect.
To operate and improve the library, personalize your experience, moderate abuse, secure the service, communicate updates, and comply with legal requirements.
We apply reasonable safeguards but cannot guarantee absolute security. We keep data while your account is active or as needed to provide the service, then delete or anonymize it when no longer required or after a valid removal request.
We use cookies and similar technologies for essential functionality, user preferences (such as theme), analytics, and advertising. Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies (such as the DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can choose to disable cookies through your browser settings, though some features of the service may not function properly. Where required, we will request your consent before using non-essential cookies or personalized advertising.
You may request access, correction, or deletion of your data. We do not sell personal information. We share data only with service providers (e.g., hosting/Supabase), with your consent, or when legally required. Content you choose to make public on the platform (such as profiles, reviews, lists, or uploaded images) may be visible to other users. In the case of images, third-party hosting services may make them accessible via direct links outside the platform. Depending on your location, you may have additional rights under applicable data protection laws.
We use third-party services such as hosting providers, databases (e.g., Supabase), analytics tools, advertising partners (such as Google Ads), and external APIs to operate the platform. These services may process limited personal data (such as IP address, device information, or usage data) in accordance with their own privacy policies.
Otaku's Library is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If such data is discovered, it will be deleted.
Images uploaded to Otaku’s Library are hosted using third-party image hosting services. As a result, uploaded images may be publicly accessible through a direct link, even outside the platform. While these images are not actively indexed or promoted by us, we cannot guarantee that they will remain private or undiscoverable. Users are strongly advised not to upload sensitive, personal, or confidential images. By uploading images, you acknowledge and accept that they may be publicly accessible. If you have uploaded an image that you wish to remove, please contact us immediately. We will make reasonable efforts to assist with removal requests.
We use third-party advertising services, including Google Ads, to display advertisements. These services may use cookies, device identifiers, and similar technologies to show personalized or non-personalized ads based on your activity. Google may collect and process data in accordance with its own privacy policy. You can manage your ad preferences through your Google account settings.
For data requests (access, updates, or deletion) or privacy questions, email us at otakuslibrary75@gmail.com. We aim to respond within 1 to 5 business days.
