Most isekai stories focus on the journey to another world, the battles fought, and the eventual victory. Epilogue starts where those stories end. Four friends—Matt, Blake, Jen, and Carl—were whisked away to the war-torn magical land of Cyraveil. They spent seven years there, growing into powerful adult heroes, overthrowing an empire, and bringing peace to a kingdom. But as soon as their mission was complete, they were snapped back to their original world, Oregon, USA. To their families, only a few hours have passed. To the returnees, they are adults trapped in the bodies of teenagers, forced to attend high school and live with parents who don't know the warriors they became. Even worse, only three of them returned; Carl is gone, and no one in the real world even remembers he existed. The story follows the three survivors as they struggle with the crushing weight of post-war trauma, the loss of their powers, and the agonizing realization that the world they "saved" is now just a memory, while the world they returned to feels like a cage.
