In a distant future, Earth is a "Paradise Planet" ruled by mysterious, god-like alien beings. Most human children are raised in highly advanced children's protection centers, supported by anonymous "patrons" from the ruling alien clans. Mori, a young boy who lived alone in an abandoned house before being rescued, is one such child. When his best friend is reunited with her mother and leaves the center, Mori realizes for the first time that "mothers" exist. Armed with a magical cloak given by his mysterious patron, Mori decides to leave the safety of the center to find his own mother. He is joined by Ryder, a cynical biker who initially helps him for a potential reward, but soon becomes his fierce protector in a world that is as beautiful as it is dangerous.
